I don’t know that I agree completely, but very interesting perspective, nonetheless.

Recently, our 15 year old TV died, so we bought a new Samsung LCD. Shortly after we got it, our neighbor was visiting and asked if we had HD, which we didn’t. We’ve always had the cheapest TV service we could get. He told us about the deal he got on a Comcast Triple Play package, and it was about $50 less than we were spending each month on separate services. So, we decided to check it out.
We now have a Comcast Triple Play package, but only after a lot of frustration and wasted time. Comcast has let us down at nearly every step in the process of selling, installing, and configuring just about everything.
Now, don’t get me wrong, we have dealt with some wonderful, pleasant, and helpful individuals at Comcast, but only after we’ve called to report each of the many problems. So, I’m really talking about Comcast The Company.
All in all, it has been a very bad customer experience. I hope that Verizon’s move into Pittsburgh will encourage Comcast to stop resting on their monopoly and do better.
The bike is ready to go after a full tear down, cleaning, and rebuild. When I was taking the cassette off, my rear hub axle nut came off and the hub came open, so I decided to dive in a rebuild both hubs, too. The Campy hubs are designed to be user-serviceable, so it didn’t really long at all. I took the bike out for a quick spin tonight, and no more creaking bottom bracket! Whew … must have been moisture from when I got caught in the rain a couple weeks ago. A good cleaning and re-greasing is all it needed, I suppose.
We stopped for a bit at Tamarack, in Beckley, WV with my parents for lunch. They have tons of incredible, and silly, local crafts, and it’s fun just to walk through and look.
That last photo is obviously not from Tamarack. It’s the new dresser we bought in Charleston, but I accidentally added to this gallery, and apparently there isn’t a way to remove a photo from a gallery in Posterous yet! D’oh!
Ok, so “Pumpkin shopping” was a bad title, since this ended up being pics from a full day of shopping around Charleston, WV with my mom. But hey, it started with pumpkins!
